Moon-mantle Arrowhead
The largest of the Arrowheads, Moon-mantles are enormous, gentle giants — A Hydrozoa-like species that drift just below calm ocean surfaces. Their vast gelatinous bodies refract sunlight into shimmering, prismatic patterns. Moving slowly and deliberately, they absorb solar energy through specialized light-sensitive cells to power their metabolism.
Nomadic by nature, Mantles follow the sun across oceans, migrating through bands of warm, tranquil water. By day, they gather in loose groups, their glowing forms creating underwater constellations. At dusk, their luminescence dims, conserving energy through the night. They release nutrient-rich, glowing plasma that supports plankton and other marine life, making them key contributors to their ecosystem.
